Susan Garwood, MD
- Dr. Garwood is an advanced bronchoscopist at Interventional Pulmonary of Nashville affiliated with Tri-Star HCA Centennial. She specializes in robotic navigational bronchoscopy and has performed more than 2000 of these procedures to date.
- She serves as the Physician Director, Pulmonary Service line for the HCA enterprise and previously served as the Sarah Cannon, Thoracic Oncology Lead nationally. To date she has helped launch more than 130 incidental and screening programs within the HCA network.
- She serves at the Medical Director for the Thoracic Oncology service line for the HCA Tri-Star Division and sits on the governance board for Thoracic Oncology for the HCA Tri-Star System, is a member and participant of the Integrated Cancer Committee for the Tri-Star Division and is the director of the weekly Thoracic Planning Tumor Conference at Centennial.
- She serves on the Board of Trustees for Centennial Medical Center.
- She is the incoming Vice President for the Society of Advanced Bronchoscopy.
- Dr. Garwood earned her medical degree at the University of Texas at Houston Medical School. Her residency in Internal Medicine was earned at Vanderbilt University and her Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship was completed at the Medical University of South Carolina. She is board certified in Pulmonary and previously in Internal Medicine and Critical Care medicine.
