Carey Thomson, MD, MPH
Dr. Carey Thomson is an innovative healthcare delivery expert and clinical leader specializing in the early detection of lung cancer and cardiopulmonary medicine. As an implementation scientist, she focuses on integrating technology, navigation, and education into healthcare practices. She is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and serves as the Chair of the Department of Medicine at Mount Auburn Hospital/Beth Israel Lahey Health.
Dr. Thomson is also the founder and director of the Multidisciplinary Thoracic Oncology and Lung Cancer Screening Program at Mount Auburn Hospital. Her work involves developing implementation tools for lung cancer screening and leading national efforts to incorporate AI technology into care pathways for cardiopulmonary diseases. She has played a key role in collaborating on clinical guidelines for lung nodules, screening, and interstitial lung disease, and translating these guidelines into actionable clinical pathways for COPD, ILD, and other cardiopulmonary diseases.
